Mumbai, Dec 23: ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’ was the theme of our rally as we Xavierites raised our voices with loud slogans. We Xavierites initiated ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ the motto of our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Preparations for the same were in progress the past few days. Posters, slogans and badges were prepared by the council members. The drive began with the welcome speech by the vice president, followed by the Word of God and a prayer. The guests Chaitanya Keer (naturalist), Dr Vidushi Agrawal (Dietician), Rishabh Shah (Environmentalist) were felicitated by the council members and lead towards the Ratan Nagar area for the cleanliness drive.

Students whole heartily joined hands in cleaning the area spreading awareness to make Ratan Nagar clean and eco – friendly. The highlight of the programme was the enactment of the environmental skit on cleanliness presented by the students.

Indeed this drive was inspiring and educative for the students. The programme concluded in the same way as the sun rises every morning and sets in the evening, by the vote of thanks. This programme would have been impossible without the support and guidance of our chairman, sir and managing director, madam.

EVENTIAL SPEAKS –
"Educating kids and youth about such social activities will empower the noble cause of environmental cleanliness and will also help us to achieve our vision", says VARDHAN MORAKHIA

"Our motto of clean India, green India, education and public awareness begins with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan as the first step towards it", says PRASHANT SHAH

"The students have done their best. I hope every year we get to see various programmes and activities conducted by them", says MARIETTE FERNANDES, HM, St Xavier’s High School.
