Kuwait: IMWA confers prizes to Quran contest winners

Kuwait, Dec 25: IMWA’s Award Conferral of Quran Competition 2014 was held on Saturday, December 20 at Salmiya Indian Model School (SIMS), Kuwait. The award conferral function was anchored by Mir Abrar Ali. The lively anchor kept the audience engaged and informed of the events for the evening.

The function started with Quran recitation by Asma Manshauddin and the translation was read by Sumayya Parveen.

Mohammed Manshauddin, the president of IMWA welcomed the chief guest, Engineer Khalifa Al Fadala, Director of operations and maintenance department, MEW. He also welcomed the guests, dignitaries, IMWA members and its executive committee and more importantly, the winners of the Quran Competition. He informed that this year 500 boys and girls from 20 schools participated in the competition and 87 emerged as the winners. In his concluding remarks he thanked all those who contributed for the success of the programme speciallyNajatKhariya, for their contribution in conducting the competition, SIMS Management and Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Administration of Grand Mosque, Kuwait.











Engineer Khalifa Al Fadala, the chief guest gave an inspiring speech. He praised the efforts of IMWA for conducting such competitions which help children come closer to their roots, Islam.

Federation of Indian Muslims (FIMA) president Siddeeque Valiyakath praised IMWA for conducting this event with such great success year after year.

Some of the Competition winners enthralled the audience with their speeches and recitations. Their performance on stage proved beyond doubt their well-deserved first position.

The chief guest, guest of honor, senior members of IMWA as well other dignitaries present distributed awards to the Quran Competition winners out of the 500 students who participated in the Quran competition.

The programme concluded by Vote of Thanks offered by IMWA’s General Secretary, Israr Ahmed to all those who attended this Award Conferral function. Snack packets were subsequently distributed to all the attendees of the Award Conferral function.
