Mangalore roads (network ), traffic jams and the pollution (air as well as noise) and errant drivers who race without concern for people may drive any one crazy and run for shelter at any given point of time. I wonder how elderly and physically disabled people can move around safely. Traffic jams have exploded and gone beyond any ones control. Pity on the sick or any emergency cases that are to be hospitalized.

I along with my grown up daughter took 5 minutes to cross the road at Highlands. It is like a nightmare to defy traffic. A small distance from Kankanady circle to Kapitanyo took more than 30 minutes to reach by auto ripsaw.

This is the result of wrong side driving...

After the construction of double road from mlore to udupi i dnt knw what ppl think of themselves they act as thou they are the heroes. To avoid a U turn just 500 mtrs away they will go on wrong side with their vehicle head lights on, and if a if a vehicle is passing on correct side on their way they will HONK and say " DANENBE SAIPANA???"

Well it's the administration who gets blame at the last. Wat will administration do in this case?? Who has told him to go on wrong side from chitrapu?? If this guy had to go to mlore from chitrapu he had to go approx 200 mtrs from chitrapu towards mulky and then take a u turn, instead he chose to drive on a wrong side till kolnad wch is a stretch of abt a kilo meter.

Anyways in this case the truck fellow is innocent. Let police book the car driver under suicide attempt case as he was dangering his life by driving on a wrong side

At the end, few days back I was in mlore I hav seen lot of wrong side drivers from Nanthoor to Kundapur stretch. From nanthoor to BC Road stretch. From KPT to Kavoor stretch. Mostly riders or drivers of - bikes, autos and bus think that highway is their ancesteral property and r responsible for the the accidents and chaos caused by their wrong side driving. Not to forget the stretch from kulur to baikampady is owned by the great grand fathers of truck drivers..

the court of law should implement severe fine and punishment to all those who violate traffic regulations.

I agree with you 101%. The administration should seriously look into this. Educate people on road safety, rules and traffic signs. Like the saksharatha andolan this is also equally important as it is concerned with life of people.

Dear Jayson Pereira, Your findings are absolutely correct. We, law abiding citizen, would not like to violate the traffic rule and at the same time, we can not tolerate if someone drives opposite to you on a wrong side direction either.

I too have observed the same practice what you explained on Mlore-Kundapur road. Just to save 100 ml petrol or diesel, they are attempting a suicidal mission endangering others' life too.

Traffic Police should tame these errant drivers by cancelling their licenses.

Jaison, Dubai/Mangalore: What you wrote is 100 to 1000% correct. This is nothing but SHORT CUT TO LIFE.
The biggest offenders are Two Wheeler, Auto rickshaws and to some extent cars. It is common to see these violations in most of the city roads having Road Dividers, between Kuntikan junction(A.J. Hospital) to KPT _ Nanthoor, KPT junction to Yeyyadi - Bondel - Kavoor road, Mangalure - Padil - Farangipete - B.C. Road and all the highways. It is very typical of people of D.K. and Udupi to indulge in these violations, endangering not only their lives but other road users and put the blame on others when they are involved in accidents. Even people trespass the railway property and cross the tracks with vehicles at unmanned level crossings. They are beyond redemption, even GOD comes to this world, they will not listen to him.
