Swedish nurse returns to hospital after showing Ebola symptoms

Stockholm, Jan 7 (IANS): A Swedish nurse who worked with Ebola patients in Sierra Leone was admitted to hospital for the second time Wednesday, two days after being declared healthy.

The nurse was admitted to the Malmo University Hospital in southern Sweden. She is expected to be brought to an isolation unit in the town of Linkoping in a specially-equipped ambulance, Xinbhua reported citing the Svenska Dagbladet newspaper.

"She has shown symptoms of Ebola. Although it's not certain what it is, it's better to be safe than sorry," the newspaper quoted Sara Frostberg Lowery of the Skane Regional Council as saying.

The nurse worked with the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency in Sierra Leone before she returned to Sweden. She was taken to Skane University Hospital in Lund Sunday but was declared free of the deadly disease Monday.
