India 342/5 at stumps, trail by 230 runs


Sydney, Jan 8 (IANS): India ended day three on 342 for five, still 230 runs behind Australia's first innings score in the fourth and final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) here Thursday.

Captain Virat Kohli led from the front with a solid unbeaten 140 and was well supported by youngster Lokesh Rahul (110), playing in only his second Test.

Australia, though, managed to take the three wickets in the final session. Suresh Raina (0) playing his first Test since 2012 fell on his first ball back while Ajinkya Rahane (13) also failed to make an impression.
