Watch video: Police officer accidentally shoots himself in an elevator

Cincinnati (United States), Jan 20: An off-duty police officer was on his way back from dinner with his wife when he met with an unusual accident. He accidently shot himself in an elevator while trying to adjust his gun.

CCTV footage shows the police officer Darryl Jouett enter an elevator with his wife. They are talking and both appear to be in good.

Darryl tries to adjust his gun, removes it from its holster.
While trying to reposition the gun, it goes off.

The bullet ricocheted off the walls of the elevator and narrowly missed his wife before hitting him.

According to reports, the injuries were not life-threatening.
