Karkala, Jan 26: Hotel Kateel International, a state-of-the-art hotel with all modern amenities, located near Hegde Compound here, was inaugurated in a befitting ceremony on Sunday January 25 by K Abhaychandra Jain, youth services and fisheries minister.
Addressing the gathering after the inauguration, Jain said, "Since Karkala is a historic place, it needs modern business enterprises and people have to invest in the region. Along with business, people's wellness is also necessary. In this direction, efforts by owners of Hotel Kateel International are appreciable."
He further said, "Only with co-operation of all the people can the city be developed and this has been proved by D R Raju and Rohith Kumar."
Chief guest MLA Sunil Kumar said people from undivided Dakshina Kannada district have found success by starting hotels in Mumbai. "With the same experience, starting a hotel in their own city for the development of the city is a good sign. Previously, such hotels were found only in big cities but now international hotels have come to our city and this makes us happy," said Kumar.
Former MLA H Gopal Bhandary said only when the public co-operates with the government can the city be developed and Hotel Kateel International is the right example.
Urban development and Udupi district-in-charge minister Vinaya Kumar Sorake said, “The government is taking every city towards development and has made plans for basic necessities. Business enterprises have to be started to contribute in this direction.”
The main building of Hotel Kateel International was inaugurated by MLA Sunil Kumar. Sindhura Hall was inaugurated by Chikkamagaluru advocate and planter M Ramakrishna Shetty. The guest house was inaugurated by former MLA H Gopala Bhandary.
‘Breeze’ garden restaurant was inaugurated by Beltangady businesman K Ramananda Salian, hotel's main office was inaugurated by Mangaluru’s famous cancer specialist Dr Y Sanath Hegde. ‘Sathwa’ veg restaurant was inaugurated by K P Jagadeesh Adhikari from Moodbidri. ‘Farms’ poolside garden restaurant was inaugurated by famous film actress and MLC Jayamala.
Health club was inaugurated by Dr M Mohan Alva, president, Alva’s College. The swimming pool was inaugurated by Prabakar Kamath, owner of Gayatri Exports. ‘Waves’, the sports bar, was inaugurated by Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi, president of Bantara Sangha.
‘Bhoomi’ family restaurant was inaugurated by Mumbai-based businessman Raghuveera A Shetty. Former ‘Mr World’ Raymond D’Souza inaugurated the gym. Corporation president Rehamath N Sheik, former MLC K S Mohammed Masood, Fr Vincent Crasta, Savithri Raju and D R Raju, Apsara R Kateel, and Rohith Kumar Kateel were present.
Sunitha Prabhakar invoked god's blessings while D R Raju welcomed the gathering, J C Rajendra Bhat organized the programme and Bharath Kumar Kateel thanked.
