American companies laud Modi government's business-friendly moves


New Delhi, Feb 17 (IANS): The American Chamber of Commerce in India (Amcham-India) Tuesday welcomed the Narendra Modi government's focus on creating an enabling environment and enhancing India's position on ease of doing business.

Amcham-India, an association of American companies in India, in a statement here also reiterated the commitment of US multinationals to an anti-corruption framework and special compliance and risk management strategy in conformity with laws including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) of the US.

"We laud Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to enhance ease of doing business in India which reflects his commitment to weeding out red tape and corrupt practices," executive director of Amcham-India Ajay Singha said.

"American companies are revisiting their strategies on how to minimize exposure to bribery risk, adhering to compliance norms and comprehend the challenges of operating in the changed business environment," he said.
