Jaitley to review key financial sector issues


New Delhi, Feb 17 (IANS): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will review key financial sector issues in an quarterly review meeting to be held here March 5, the government said Tuesday.

According to a statement by the finance ministry, Jaitley will review issues like credit off-take, achievement under priority sector lending (PSL) and progress made under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY).

The review meeting will be held with the chief executive officers (CEOs) of public sector banks (PSBs) and financial institutions (FIs).

The statement said the meeting will also focus on improving the performance of the PSBs and FIs through steps like the recent additional infusion of Rs.6,990 crore in PSBs on the basis of performance measured by return on assets.
