Sharjah, Mar 6 (Emirates 247) : A 11-year old Indian school girl fell to death from a high rise building in Sharjah on Tuesday evening.

The Grade 6 student of Indian Excellent Private School died after falling from the third floor of a residential tower near Al Zahra Hospital in Rolla.

The student was going through her school exams. She had taken four examinations, with three remaining.

According to eye witness accounts, the girl’s name is Shalini Sanjay and hails from Bihar state.

It is not yet known whether the girl’s fall was an accident or whether there were any other reason for her fall.

“Shalini had been appearing for her examinations. She was to attend a tuition class but it appears she did not go for tuition,” said a resident in the Al Zahra Hospital neighbourhood.

According to the school authorities, she returned home after the examination at around 11.30am on Tuesday. She left on the school bus, according to school officials.

Sharjah Police has cordoned off the area as part of investigation into the mysterious death of the girl.

An official source at the Excellent Indian Private School told Emirates 24|7 that “we got information only today morning. We contacted the parents who told us that they were out in the evening and when they returned home they saw the girl dead. They did not give us any other information and they are going ahead with the formalities.”
