Peddu, education alone will not teach driving or makes someone a better driver. There should be a tough theory test (not like what we have at the moment with few hand signals) Once they pass the theory test ,then they have to be given learners permit and after at least 6 months of driving under "L" then they can sit for the practical driving test which should cover all aspects of driving for at least 5 kms. That will bring the good drivers to the road.

Well done cops!!!! We hear from your media briefings that in the next few days/weeks you will be undertaking checking of vehicles for wearing seat belts and other safety features please also check for the tints being applied to the glasses of four wheelers because the trend has started again in Mangalore imagining that the cops will not care to take note of that. Please continue the good work because we Indians are very good as individuals but have failed as a community. As in every other place, we respect the law only when it is strictly implemented (fear of law is respected and not the other way round) KUDOS TO MANGALORE POLICE. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. ALL RIGHT THINKING MANGALOREANS ARE WITH YOU !!!

Two wheelers are the most reckless and loud vehicles disturbing traffic all over India should be banned on highways allowed only extreme left lane in cities with speed limit maximum 20KMH. Mr. Nayak and team should be given all support to make our city a model.

It is good that the order has been passed by The Deputy Commissioner - Mr. Ibrahim to ensure safety of people.

With regard to the implementation of the order there is no better person than Mr. ACP Uday Nayak to carry out the new regulation to perfection.

Seat belts are mandatory in most parts of the world and in fact the fines for non-observation of the regulation go up-to $150/- amounting to over Rs.8,000/-.

The police are only trying to protect people and let us all respect the Government Order.

Oh my God,finally Police Dept. came to our rescue from this menace of horns. Since SI Gopalkrishna Bhat left,Bus drivers had upper hand. These KKB buses with KA18 registration were worst. SI Guru Kamath, please keep up the good work and stand up for this great act. Now next one should be at Nanthoor for Route 15 buses going to Surathkal. If you are busy call SI Bhat and He will do the Job.

GOOD ACTION FROM POLICE DEPT., where is RTO., dept etc.- who is simply sanctioning permit and sitting in a corner of his OFFICE and ill bothered about the menace of Public. He is also responsible to issue Permit. U can see most of the EXPRESS BUS/CITY BUS having high tone cassette, it should not be encouraged by the OWERNERS. It is the facy of Conductor as well as drivers, it has to be stopped by the RTO AS WELL AS POLICE and this system and some of the bus having three youth supporter for carryout illegal action and they think that nobody is questionable to them. Remove Cassette and 2 ro 3 supporter to conductor. This is not our COASTAL DK/Udupi district culture.

Good initiative from traffic police. Most of the time it is a nightmare to sit in the buses regarding horns are concerned. Long haul buses within the district are real sound polluters. strict action is required against heavily users of horns.

instead of cracking the horns the traffic police should educate the bus drivers how to ply the vehicles. put heavy penalty on those vehicles who violate tracking. The traffic police very much present on the circles, junctions, and the mistakes are happening in front of them but they are stand still. why????
there is no limit for passenger capacity, some buses are tilted when they ply, but traffic police has no knowledge at all. improve this system, bring the traffic in systematic, guide the wrong doing, correct the mistakes once or twice, keep the track and put heavy penalty third time. but do we have tracking computerized system? please do this then make this big show.
i have seen several times, the daily and regular vehicles plying in the city are ignored by traffic police and if any stranger enter into our city and make a small mistake they jump on him like hungry tiger.
dear police officer please educate your team to respect the visitors, to guide the wrong doers, stop those two wheeler who drive on fast track and carry more than two passengers, and using two wheeler as carriage goods vehicle.
hope this message will reach to the traffic department through daiji world media. if any assistance needed, i am ready to render my knowledge without charges.

All of a sudden today afternoon I couldn't hear any noise, once I thought it could be bus fellows are on strike or I am in the middle of the night. Now it is clear Our ACP and team caught hold of throats of our King drivers. Good job sir, but make Driver and conductor to come down and use their hand to remove horns and let authorities show their power.

Most sensible thing ever happened on Mangaluru roads, keep it up! Another serious issue that needs attention of authorities is abrupt stoppage of buses on the middle of the roads to pick up passengers causing great deal of inconvenience (sometimes leading to mishaps too)to the unfortunate drivers behind.

Here in the Gulf, some semblance of discipline does exist or to say the least concerning honking which is a serious crime. A person deliberately honking here is considered as a maniac and a moron and adds to insult .. insult in the sense disturbing the concentration of the person driving in the front of you and by any means punitive penalty / fines levied on such trespassers. If they still honk, substantial levying of stiffer penalties can result in the license being revoked. This is an ideal example for motorists in India too and should be implemented with immediate effect

The air pollution and sound pollution from vehicles can be eliminated or drastically reduced.
A simple concept change in vehicles move can make world of difference with a revolutionary change is the surface transport sector.
The opportunity is to save a huge volume of fuel, generate free energy to a certain extent, elimination of unhealthy air pollution and peace disturbing sound pollution, cheap and safe transport services and reduction in oil imports.
The option is to have a peaceful society, stable economy and clean environment.
The need is to think different and implement change.

Air pollution is health hazardous and sound pollution is peace disturbing.
Instead of 100% tortoise style, if 20% tortoise style and 80% rabbit/kangaroo style is applied in vehicles move, we can save a considerable volume of fuel and in the meantime, a certain volume of free energy can be generated.
The huge dead weight of commuters and goods on wheels can be used as a powerful pushing force. SUV and cars can be converted as heavy vehicles as the capacities of vehicles can be multiplied.
If the authorities are serious about solutions, we can have a rapid surface transport revolution.
