India calls Lakhvi's release 'unfortunate'

New Delhi, April 10 (IANS): India on Friday described the Mumbai terror attack mastermind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi's release from a Pakistani jail as "unfortunate" and "disappointing".

Home Minister Rajnath Singh said: "India wants talks with Pakistan but the present development is unfortunate and disappointing."

Pakistani authorities on Friday released Lakhvi, a day after a court suspended his detention.

The 2008 terror attack in Mumbai had claimed the lives of 166 Indians and foreigners.
