Bantwal, Apr 17: 'We should own a lifestyle that is in consonance with nature and fine culture. Nature teaches us to be patient, affectionate, and be humane. Our ancient saints and sages were closely connected with nature and lived in that atmosphere. Most of the life forms are closely knit with nature. We, the humans, are not justified in destroying nature just because we have the capacity to do so,' felt Sri Esha Vittaladasa Swamiji of Sandeepani Sadhanashram, Kemar.

He was speaking at the programme of 'Prukriti Vandane (saluting the nature)' held during the third annual summer camp of 'Pachche Parba' organized at Uchirandipalke in Maninalkur village in the taluk. The camp was held jointly by 'Arivu Pachche Balaga Bantwal' and 'Rangasangatya' organizations.

The Swamiji stressed that there are lot of things which the humans can learn from nature. He hailed the organizers for conducting this programme, which creates awareness about the importance of greenery in one's life among youngsters, to live green, and remain green in their attitude towards life. 'Being green is not only a possibility, but also imperative. I extend full support for endeavours, programmes, and movements which are pro-nature,' he said.

On this occasion, unique programmes like singing and reading, play, and salutes to nature were held by 'Simphony' team of children's magazine. The well, trees, plants, and platforms in the hillock where the programme was conducted, were honoured by offering of locally grown flowers and performing Dhooparathi. Killur Deva Rao, who has been known for growing over 150 varieties of paddy, participated in the programme as chief guest.

Lecturer, Dr Shreesha Kumar, theatre personality, I K Boluwar, head of Nalkur Guttu House, Ratnakar Konde, folklore artiste, Sharada G Bangera, owner of the land, Gangayya Bangera, trainer, Premananda Kalmadi, journalist, Gopal Anchan, Sathish Kakyapadavu, Krishnappa Bambila, and Nada Maninaklur, were present.

'Pachche Parba' also witnessed the marriage of Radha (23) from Doddaballapur with Srinivas (32). They exchanged garlands under a tree by getting seated on an old log decorated with leaves and covered by sheets woven out of coconut fronds.

Before the inaugural, the children went in a procession, raising pro-nature slogans. The camp was inaugurated by sounding whistles made out of leaves. Children of Keddalike government higher primary school, which has won district level nature-friendly award, headmaster, Ramesh Nayak, Rayi, and teachers participated. Play, 'Nataka Bhoomi', directed by Mounesh Vishwakarma was staged by the children of this school. Another play, 'Mayaloka' directed by Krishnappa Bambila was staged by the children of Bantwal SVS Temple English Medium School. On the third day, nature singing and 'Prukriti' play was acted out by 'Pachche' troupe.
