Congratulations to the members of St. Joseph's Club Mazagaon Mumbai. I used to stay in St. John's Catholic Association of Pangala, Fort. Mr Ambrose D'Mello of Pangala was Secretary. As he has rightly mentioned, these residential clubs provided great help in various ways to the new comers to Mumbai city from native place.

It is indeed heartening to note that St.Joseph's Club, Mazgaon celebrated its Centenary. At earlier times when male members from native place had to come to Mumbai in search of jobs, and no place to stay, these Clubs(Kuuds) provided great help in sheltering them and nurturing community life. Hats off to the founders and those who run these institutions even in difficult times.

So nice to know St Joseph's Club Mazgaon celebrates centenary.
    i. I think with moving times and change of peoples requirements, Clubs should operate like YMCA and YWCA giving temporary residential facilities at 1/4 of normal hotel cost to needy community members even from outside the State as well on provision of baptism certificate.
ii. Clubs should make them members and let out premises to Model or Citizen type of community banks to earn income for survival and growth.
iii. There should be federation of all clubs for better administration and standardizing rules. Engage Legal advisers, community experts for the same.
iv. What our forefathers made, we should at least preserve and improve for our next generation.
