26-year-old woman from Badiadka killed in accident in Rajasthan

Kasargod, May 19: A woman from Badiadka here died in an accident in Rajasthan on Monday May 18.

The deceased has been identified as Chaitra (26), wife of Chandra. She was living in Bengaluru with her husband and daughter Diya.

It is learnt that Chaitra's neighbours in Bengaluru had invited the family for a function in Rajasthan, their home state. Accordingly, Chaitra, Chandra, Diya and four others had left for Rajasthan by train.

The accident occured at Chirawa when a truck hit the car they were travelling in, killing three persons including Chaitra.

The names of the other two deceased are not yet known.

Chaitra's daughter Diya is said to have escaped with minor injuries, but there is no information about Chandra.

Chaitra was the daughter of Narayana, owner of Chaitra Enterprises in Badiadka.

Chandra is an engineer staying and working in Peenya region of Bengaluru.

The body will be brought to Bengaluru, sources said. Chaitra's family members in Badiadka have already left for Bengaluru, it is learnt.

    Accidents like trucks or public transport vehicles exceeding the prescribed speed limits and thus causing accidents are ever on the increase and one reads of such mishaps almost every day.

    Can the authorities think of some way to control these accidents and thus saving lives.

    My sympathies go to all the members of the bereaved family.
