Mangalore, Apr 11: DYFI along with locals staged a protest in front of Mannagudda MESCOM office on Wednesday April 11 morning.

Addressing the protestors, DYFI state president Sunil Kumar Bajal said that MESCOM has been collecting additional deposits from customers without any formal public announcement.  MESCOM should stop burdening consumers by collecting additional deposits, he demanded.

He also alleged that MESCOM has been keeping the city in dark during the most hours of the day under the pretext of load-shedding.  "While most of the students are either answering or preparing for exams, MESCOM has been acting irresponsibly.  Students are finding it extremely difficult to prepare for their exams owing to irregular and frequent power cuts," he added.

DYFI district president Muneer Katipalla, state president Sunil Kumar Bajal, district secretary Ashok Konchadi and city president Dayanand Shetty were also present at the protest.
