Mangalore, Apr 12: The local office of Vishwa Go-sammelan organizing committee was inaugurated at Kodialbail here on Wednesday April 11.

The office was inaugurated by Sharavu Temple managing trustee Raghavendra Shastri, ahead of the world conference on cattle to be held from Saturday April 21 to Sunday April 29 at Sri Ramachandrapura Math near Hosanagar, Shimoga.

The office has been established with a view to collect funds and materials required for the convention.

The national committee, headed by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade, comprises of representatives from across the country.

Nearly 25 lac people from across the globe are expected to participate in the convention. Vice-president of India Bhairon Singh Shekhawat has also been invited.

The convention will include exhibition on rare breeds, seminars and discussions on various topics related to cows such as their history, food, health, etc. There will be ‘thulabhara’ of the cow on all days during the course of the convention and on the last day the cow will be taken in a chariot.

An encyclopaedia on cows will also be released on the occasion.

Among those present were Kannada Sahitya Parishat DK chapter president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura and former president Harikrishna Punaroor.
