Mangalore, Apr 17: The Koraga community led by Federation of Koraga Development Organizations has urged chief minister H D Kumaraswamy to look in to the problems faced by the community and take appropriate action on the memorandum submitted by its members on March 30.

Speaking to press persons here on Monday April 16, Federation president Gauri said that Federation had asked the chief minister to address problems such as lack of access to nutritious food, employment and education which had further deteriorated the condition of the Koraga community.

She also expressed concern about the fact that the population of Koragas had declined from 16,500 thirty years ago to present 13,853.

The chief minister has given positive assurances to the Federation regarding its memorandum, she said.

She further said that the title deeds to sites as had been promised have not been distributed by the government yet. She threatened to stage a protest if the title deeds are not handed over by end of the month.
