Beltangady, Apr 18: In yet another accident involving a tipper, a college student was killed at Koodelu near Venur here on Tuesday April 17.  Even before the people of Mangalore city could forget 4 accidents which took place owing to reckless driving of tippers in the last week, this accident has taken place knocking student to death.

The deceased has been identified as Rizwan (18), son of Nazirmuddin of Angarakariya in Arambodi village here.  He was the student of Mahaveer College in Moodbidri.  The accident took place on a steep curve near Poonja Temple at Arambodi.

Rizwan was on his way to college when a tipper driven recklessly by one Gopal Poojary knocked him down after colliding with his mobike at Koodelu.  The tipper was on its way to Sidhakatte from Venur.

As a result Rizwan fell on the road and sustained serious injuries.  Though he was rushed to a private hospital in Mangalore immediately, he succumbed to injuries on the way owing to excessive bleeding.

Rizwan's relative Altaf has filed a case with the Venur police in this regard.
