Mumbai, Jun 9: Popular background singer with a melodious voice and well known artiste Pravin T Baikampady passed away after a massive heart attack here on the morning of Tuesday June 9.


Young Pravin Baikampady just 49 years old, was the resident of Maulana compound on LBS road at Ghatkopar west. On suffering from a chest pain around 1.20 am, his wife Geetha Pravin and brother Navin Suvarna rushed him to the Lokhande Hospital at Ghatkopar west but he passed away without responding to treatment.

Pravin Baikampady has left behind his wife Geetha Pravin, only daughter Dishi Praveen and a large number of friends and relatives.

Well known artistes Mohan Marnad, Padmanabha Sasihitlu, Narayan Shetty Nandalike, Sadaya, Navin Shetty Annabalike, Manohar Shetty Nandalike and hundreds of other artistes rushed to his residence soon after
hearing the sad news and took part in the last rites.

The last rites of Pravin were performed in Rajavadi crematorium at Ghatkopar in the morning of June 9. Film actor Sai Ballal, Devadas Salian, Ashok Karnad, Chandravathi Devadiga, Anil Suvarna, Rajkumar
Karnad, Karunakar Kaup, Vishwanath Shetty Pethri, Mohan Salian, Jagadish Rai, Balakrishna Shetty, Chandrakanth Salian, Sudha Shetty, Omdas Kannangar, Mogaveer managing committee office bearers and other
elite people participated in the last rites and offered their condolences to Pravin's family.

Dr Vyasarao Ninjooru, Dr Sunitha M Shetty, Polya Laxminarayana Shetty, Juliet Pereira, Sarala Shetty, P B Chandrahas, S T Vijayakumar, K K Shetty, Kannadiga artiste's council Maharastra office bearers and several other artistes have expressed their condolences on the demise of Pravin Baikampady.
