BJP, Sena have betrayed Maharashtra, says Manikrao Thakre

Yavatmal, Jul 28 (Zee news): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) betrayed the people and also went back on its assurances to farmers in Maharashtra, former Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president and sitting MLC Manikrao Thakre said here on Monday.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Yavatmal District Congress Committee office on Monday, the said that the Modi government as well as the Sena-BJP government failed to fulfill even a single promise though more than an year has passed, Manikrao said.

He said that people have realised the hollowness of their assurances and have begun retaliating, which has been reflected in the results of the local body elections.

In the recent zilla parishad elections in Bhandara, as well as 461 village panchayats in Yavatmal district, people voted against the BJP-Sena alliance, while the Congress dominated across all panchayat samitis in the district.

A majority of village panchayats were also won by the Congress, Manikrao claimed and expressed his confidence in winning forthcoming local body elections.

He said that the Congress plans to file a chargesheet against the BJP-Sena led Maharashtra government in court, adding that final details would be declared shortly by the MPCC president.
