Every monsoon effects rural & urban populace equally. Urban towns like Delhi, Mumbai, Vadodra etc., stand still by way of clogged drains leading to water logged roads so much so, rain water enters houses & shops. Citizens suffer in-spite of paying taxes to run municipalities & Govt. Fault lies in unplanned/ faulty town development/ growth and upkeep. Solution: (1) Old drains/sewer/rainwater lines/ drains need immediate improvements & replacement with new, sludge proof and wider dia. making them effective. (2) Roads have been laid, layer-over-layer, year- after-year rapid unplanned concreatization has made earth non-porous. (3) Over & above old & leaky pipe lines are dissolving earth below causing repeated sink-holes roads must be re-carpeted 'only after removing previous layer', to leave them absorbent of natural waters (4) Remove all Eucalyptus & water guzzler plants: are some of the suggestions.
