Mangaluru: Inter-diocese Wilfy memorial singing competition in Oct, Nov

Mangaluru, Sep 19: With an objective to cherish the memory of Konkani legend Wilfy Rebimbus, Jeppu parish in association with 'The Expressions', Udupi will host the Inter-diocese Wilfy Rebimbus Memorial Wilfy’s Konkani Songs Singing Competition.

The semi-finals will be held in Mangaluru and Udupi in October and the grand finale will be held in Mangaluru on November 15.

Jeppu parish priest Fr Nelson D’Almeida said that there has been overwhelming response for the competition this year. "The fifth edition of the competition this year has reached a new height by being extended to Udupi diocese," he said.

The competition will be held in two phases. The semi-finals will be held in two places of the undivided diocese and grand finale will be held at Jeppu Church open grounds, Mangaluru.


The schedule is as below:

Semi Finals

Udupi Diocese - October 4
Venue: Udupi Chruch Hall
Time: 9.30 am - 5 pm.

Mangaluru Diocese - October 25
Venue: Jeppu parish Hall
Time: 3 pm onwards.


Grand Finale

November 15
Venue: Jeppu Church open grounds
Time: 5 pm


Entry forms for the semi-finals will be sent to all parishes of Mangaluru and Udupi dioceses. Entry forms must be duly filled and sent, says the press release.
