Mangaluru, Oct 5: AJ Hospital in association with NSS students of SDM College organised theme-oriented dance performance by experts, as part of its 'Jeevanvileena' awareness campaign on organ donation on Sunday October 4.

The event was held at City Centre Mall. The campaign launched on September 20, is being held in collaboration with Mohan Foundation, Chennai.

Actress Raksha Shenoy addressing the gathering said, “Donating by itself is a very desirable virtue. A person has to do something for the welfare of the society.

Everyone donates something somewhere sometime in various ways. But organ donation is something very unique and different, because by donating an organ a person would give away not only a small thing but a part of him, a part of his being. Let us donate ourselves.”

'Chandi Kori' film hero Arjun Kapikad said “This is an opportunity to become the real hero in your life. There is no bigger donation than the organ donation."

Addressing the crowd Dr Prashanth Maarla said, “The campaign 'Jeevanvileena' is to spread awareness about organ donation in the Mangaluru city. There are lacs of people who are dying due to various organ failures. This is just a small campaign but if you all donate your organs you can save lacs of people who are waiting for organ donors.”

The campaign will culminate with a valedictory ceremony on October 10.
