Mangalore, Jul 20: In yet another water tragedy three students from Tamil Nadu met watery grave at Panambur beach here on Friday July 20 morning.

The drowned have been identified as Santhosh, Sudesh and Suresh, students of Sona College from Salem.  They had come on an educational trip to the city along with 42 of their companions and 2 lecturers.  Among them 9 were women.

The entire group had come to Panambur beach in the morning.  Despite the sea was rough, some students had got into the sea to swim ignoring the warnings by the locals.  Warning signals have even been put on various boards along the beach.  But most of the tourists ignore this to their own peril, say locals.

Coast Guards have already launched massive search operation to fish out the drowned.  Panambur police have registered a case in this regard.

Its not time to blame each other in this matter.. The life lost is precious and noone can bring it back. so I beg the Andhra government to take responsibilty and provide few sign boards in all languages which wont cost much than this precious lives and I request all my brothers and sisters not to take such risk for pride without having proper knowledge of the danger out there in all activities. The ocean has already quenched its thirst in tsunami.. lets dont give ours as compliment as I lost my brothers..

It is ridiculous to blame the government for a foolish act by the students which at the end cost their lives. Neglecting the warning from the locals and later blaming the language of signboards for the tragedy will not make any sense.

If they had sheer common sense they would have evaded the thought of getting in to sea by simply looking at its bumpiness. They could have tested their swimming skills in the rough monsoon beaches of Tamilnadu where they may well read and understand the warning signboards as it will be in their own language

This is to Mr. Vivek & Karthi Keyan, blaming the Government for the foolishness shown on behalf of the individuals involved is baseless. It is indeed sad that some people have lost their son/brother/close friend/college mate, but had common sense prevailed, such an accident would not have occured. Well if that be the case we should have signs and life guards all across the country to man the various open beaches, which is not the case.

If I am not mistaken the group was advised by the people around there (The locals) that swimming in the rough sea is dangerous, they simply did not take heed to the advise given by people who know the sea better. I am frankly of the opinion that such accidents take place due to the negligence shown on behalf of individuals themselves and blaming any government body in such cases makes no sense.

The death of this students is mainly due to the irresponsibility of the Karnataka Government. So they must pay/compensate for the loss of these lives.

This was due to the carelessness of Mangalore government  officials by not providing the proper instruction in English how could they claim that they provide their sign board in Kanadam.....it will not be familiar to all the tourists....so they must take responsibility for the death of our valuable students of our college.......
