The MCC cannot even lay a footpath between Mak Mall and Ganesh Medicals at Kankanady. There is also an illegal auto stand / fruit sellers in carts, in this place. here do you expect pedestrians to walk or stand ..... on the main road ??

Fine, but in most places where is the space to build footpaths (roads nearly touching the adjoining concrete structures) like as opp. KSRTC bus stand where shops are touching the roads and over and above that huge tourist and local buses halt there throughout the day making it impossible for the children and sr. citizens to navigate their way through unless the place is widened enough no use of applying some fevicol which is not a long term solution!! Without widening the roadside area all this money allocated to foothpath business will be a total waste!!!

It was tat Corporator of bejai who took the initiative in taking up this project, requesting them to shift frnt of the church gate ... now all the new officials are taking the credit of the completion... Even his name has not been mentioned in any reports.... Very Good... Kepp the spirit

You bogus lover of trees ?

There is only one road and thousands of people require that for everyday use. For this reason neither trees or buildings or vested interest should not come on the way. You can plant hundreds or thousands of trees elsewhere and enjoy the shade over there.

There is also one more road near Mallikatta circle prevented completion by two anti social elements who built unauthorised constructions by bribing corporation officials. Now they object giving way to Public Road. This place has now become a dangerous death trap ?

Are any of you aware that the Jeppu market which took years to complete (like the Bijai market) was recently inaugurated. It is shocking to see the same locked, without a single stall being occupied. I wont be surprised if the new Bijai market meets with the same fate! God save our city!!!

Granite quarry owners from Bangalore.. along with Builders and municipality together build all Foot paths...STRAIGHT..EVEN AND totally covers the open drains...
no up and down but in level and clean ..so while walking you dont twist and hurt your foot..as is the case now..
No more open sewers and drains..
so let the municipality draw the needed ..architectural drawings .
should be drawn with all perfection and build clean wal to wall. with kerbs. sides..Hard ..soft landscaping etc.
Let the city be looking complete.
with Proper Sign boards..Hoardings..directions .. all checked approved by the MUNICIPALITY.first.no room for any SPELLING mistakes..
if so.. ban or bring it down immediately..
It should be clean a nd clear

Good initiatives on foot paths. No concrete road should be sanctioned without footpath and the same contractor should be nominated to see that his is done. Parking on footpaths should be strictly prohibited hence more parking spaces should be allotted.

Good news Mangalore is getting new footpaths and pedestrians will be relived to walk in a peaceful way. We can only see footpaths in the Bejai, Kadri area. Why cannot we have a footpath on Mother Theresa road in Falnir? Even in Bendore we do not have proper footpaths. Looks like only residents in Kadri and Bejai paying tax.

    Dear Langoolacharya,
You might be having car and thinking about just the Road. Think about the one who do not have vehicle.
The more importance should be given to the footpaths where people walk.
As you are in D.C. you might be knowing how in US pedestrian is more valued than the car .

Mayor, Please make sure every floor has sufficient number of toilets and proper water facility. Also make sure of clearing garbage morning and evening time before it piles and stinks.

Why Bejai Corporator Lancelot Pinto is not mentioned here and why he is not sitting in the front row?

It's a very good move constructing footpaths for the public and is a need of the hour. I hope people can walk freely over the footpath while water flows underneath.
