Journalist in police custody for terror links in Bengaluru

Belagavi, Dec 8 (India Today) : The Judicial Magistrate First Class-III Court in Belagavi (Belgaum) has remanded Ejaz Ahmed Bihari, Editor of an Urdu daily, into police custody for seven days for his alleged links with terror network.

Bihari was arrested by the police in Kalburgi (Gulbarga) on the basis of information provided by Mohammed Hussein Ali Qureshi, who was caught filming the security check-points at the Belagavi airport. Qureshi had claimed that Bihari had entrusted him with the task of video-recording sensitive installations across the state.

The police formally arrested the journalist and produced him before the designated court in Belagavi on Monday. The police have not revealed the charges against the journalist, who hailed from Bihar. The police suspect that he was conducting surveillance for a local terror network.

I wish there was a system where we could permanently deport such leeches in exchange for a Yazidi who is suffering utmost torture and bombardment from all sides but none including Saudi Arabia are helping or accommodating refugees. Often wonder when there are so many rich Arab and Muslim nations, why refugees are bee lining to go to Europe and America. Are the doors closed for suffering in Muslim nations.

Our judicial laxity in finalising the cases is a big mistake. We have to close issues such as antinational activity, murder and moral policing in a war footing and close the matter within 4 months. If this happen in India, then India will be safer.
