Mangaluru, Jan 5: Since its inception, Karavali Konkans has been active in staging musical shows and Konkani dramas, production of Konkani musical albums and organizing literary events consistently.

This year a major event Claud's Golden Jubilee Nite to commemorate the 50th Konkani musical show by well-known Claud D'Souza is scheduled to be staged on January 17, 2016 at Bendore church open grounds. Claud D'Souza is an acclaimed singer, composer and actor. He has fifteen musical CDs to his credit and has written over thirty five Konkani plays which include social, religious and historical. Claud's musical nites have been staged all over including distant places like Mumbai, Bengaluru, the Middle East states and distant Canada on more than one occasion.

Claud D'Souza, being born and brought up in Bendore, St Sebastian Church will join hands with Karavali Konkans to host this historic nite. Well-known singers namely Ivan Sequiera, Anita D'Souza, Jyotsna, Archie Fernandes, Priyanka, Asha Menezes and Ashwin D’Costa will join Claud in rendering both new and old compositions.

The comedy skits will be led by veteran comedian Dolla along with Alwyn Veigas, Felix Lasrado, Joseph Pinto and Rita Fernandes. While Thunder Guys will perform the dances, the famed music duo of Pappan and Joswin will lead and direct the music. Well-known compere Leslie Rego, who is also the president of Karavali Konkans, will host the show in his inimitable style. The entry for the nite is absolutely free.
