Pathankot attack: Time for PM Modi to focus on India, says Shiv Sena

Mumbai, Jan 5 (PTI): Lashing out at the Centre in the wake of the Pathankot terror strike, the Shiv Sena today said it had warned Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to trust Pakistan and that time has now come for him to focus on India rather than trying to unite the world.

The attack has proven that our borders are not safe, India's internal security is in shambles and the only national work being done is giving condolences to the martyred on social networking sites, the Sena said in a hard-hitting editorial in party mouthpiece 'Saamana'.

"Seven of our soldiers get martyred in return of a cup of tea with Nawaz Sharif...The incident has proven that our borders are not safe and our internal security is in shambles. With the lives of six terrorists, Pakistan has managed to finish India's self-respect," it said.

Further hitting out at the government, the ruling alliance partner said, "The Prime Minister was in Lahore only last week as a guest of his counterpart Nawaz Sharif. At that time, we had warned him not to trust Pakistan."

"See how we have been betrayed today. If Pakistan wants to improve relations with India, they should immediately hand over Jaish-e-Mohammed's Maulana Masood Azhar to India," it said

The Sena also said that had the Congress been in power today, there would have been demands to strike at Pakistan and avenge the deaths of soldiers, but now nothing is being done about the incident.

"The only national work being done is condoling the deaths of soldiers on (social networking site) twitter. But why have these soldiers died? PM Modi is trying to unite the world, but time has now come for him to concentrate on India," it said.

The Sena also said that if India does not avenge the Pathankot terror attack, then displaying its military and arms and ammunition strength on Republic Day would be futile.

For once the Shiv Sena has spoken sense. Had the guts to call spade a spade.
Modi is still busy with honeymoon trips in order to inflate his already inflated ego. Please do not forget one pin prick will flatten the ego balloon. Be rooted in India Prime Minister. you were voted to power to Govern India and not to tour foreign countries.

There is something seriously wrong in the whole matter. It is surprising that the overall command and control of the operation was assumed by the NSA and operated through the NSG. It is not surprising that this proved ineffective. The command and control over the entire operation should have been exercised by the major general in charge of the division which is responsible for the defence and security of the area that includes the air force helicopter base. The Army and its units having been deployed locally are familiar with the terrain, its advantages and its problems. Pushing in an NSG contingent that was totally unfamiliar with the situation and the terrain is an incomprehensible step which cannot be explained.

Modi Govt is a big flop in every governance issue. Except for good PR in all the flagship programs of UPA, their achievement is in negative. The economy figure grows by hiding expenses. They know it very very well.

People are angry and fed up. Naturally, Modi needs to open a new window that can continue to keep people keeping their TV/Radio sets on, while he speaks.

Terrorism is the best choice. Indian always fought terrorists mentally along with our defense forces, who done that job physically.

I do wonder of the hasty hand shake in Pakistan with Nawaz. Pak and Nawaz shariff in particular always provided safe haven to terrorists. Was the mid night hand shake was a go ahead sign? One need to question PM Modi why was he there in Pak? What he achieved out of it?

..what ever happened, it came to square one what BJP/MODI or RSS saying for the years..from inception MODI Govt said terror & talk wont along..then Congress & its sickular allies and the peace messiah like MAHESH BHAT,TAROOR lambasted MODI saying he dont want peace with pakistan, only CONGRESS Govt want PEACE..Congress also sent its cheerleaders to pakistan to blame MODI & they did that and praised SAHRIEF saying he loves peace better than MODI..the same people today took a U turns, starts blaming MODI for talking to SHARIEF..Its better time for MODI to do what he believed in..since 60 years CONGRESS couldnt do anything with pakistan on PEACE, let MODI try with his own..He already succeeded in sidelining HURIYAT..

OK..atleast can you recollect 10 years of Congress/UPA rule..can you recolect 26/11 and 170 deaths and attacks, killings, beheading of soldiers in kashmir..previous allowed spies to flourish in Govt, in defense, everywhere..its evident from the fact that many congress leaders beeline to pakistan & blame INDIAN govt, indirectly helping pakis..and also dont forget release of jailed 200 men in karnataka and aftermath..
