Fadnavis gives nod to Dharavi redevelopment


Mumbai, Jan 7 (Mumbai Mirror): Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis cleared the path of Dharavi redevelopment after taking a review of the redevelopment project on Wednesday. Global tenders for the project will be floated soon. Each slum dweller will be allotted houses of 350 sq feet each.

The meeting was also attended by chief secretary Swadheen Kshatriya, finance secretary SJ Kunte, municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta, housing secretary Shreekant Singh, urban development secretary Nitin Kareer, SRA chief Aseem Gupta, MMRDA commissioner UPS Madan and Dharavi Redevelopment project chief Nirmalkumar Deshmukh.

The CM was updated about the development of sectors 1 to 4, while sector 5 is being developed by MHADA.

The CM also said that small entrepreneurs of Dharavi must be given place in the scheme.
