Mangaluru, Jan 27: Gilbert D'Souza has been elected the president of Rachana Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The election was held during the recent annual general body meeting of Rachana.

The following members were appointed to the governing body:

Gilbert D'Souza - President
Elias Sanctis - Vice-president
Eulalia D'Souza - Secretary
Juliet Mascahenhas - Treasurer
Anil Vas - Joint secretary

Members: Dr Norman Mendonca, Stany Alvares, Anil Lobo, Marcel Monteiro, Gretta Rebello, Nelson Monteiro, Flavia D' Souza and John Monteiro.

Outgoing president John Monteiro briefed about the work done by his team during his tenure and thanked the outgoing members for their co-operation. He wished the new president all the best and assured him his full co-operation in running Rachana in the best manner.

The newly-elected president Gilbert D'Souza said that he had no intention of becoming the president but he had to agree due to the requests made by many of the members. He thanked the outgoing president and the team for their wonderful performance during the past two years and informed the members gathered that he would do his best during the next two years. He sought the co-operation of all the members to run Rachana in the path of progress.
