Mumbai, Jun 29: Actor Abhishek Bachchan is set to complete 25 years in the Indian film industry on Monday, marking a significant milestone since his debut in J.P. Dutta’s 2000 drama Refugee. As he reflects on his journey, Abhishek says he prefers to focus on the road ahead rather than dwell on the past.
In a recent conversation, the Guru actor shared his perspective on reaching this landmark, stating, “I want to look forward. I want to think about the next 25 years—what I’m going to do next. That’s done now.”
Abhishek, who has built a reputation for versatility over the years, drew inspiration from his father, the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, who has spent over five decades in the film industry. “When you live with someone who’s finishing 55 years in the industry, you realize the value of constantly moving forward,” Abhishek noted. “Take your experience and learnings from the last 25 years and use them to make yourself better.”

When asked whether he would like to see his debut film Refugee re-released in theatres, he responded diplomatically: “I’ll have to ask J.P. Sahab. He’s the director and producer, so that decision lies with him. It’s up to him to decide whether the film still has something meaningful to say to today’s audience.”
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan took to social media to express his heartfelt admiration for his son. Responding to a fan’s tribute to Abhishek’s diverse filmography, Big B wrote on X in Hindi:
"Is variety ko maine pranaam karta hoon, aur apne putra ki sarahna karta hoon. Jee haan, pita hoon main uska, aur mere liye mera putra Abhishek sarahna karne yogya hai."
("I bow to this variety, and I praise my son. Yes, I am his father, and for me, my son Abhishek is worthy of praise.")
In a separate post, the Sholay star also blessed Abhishek’s upcoming projects, hinting at multiple film developments:
"Ek chap ke kuch hi dinon mein release hone waali hai... aur ek aur nayi film ki shuruaat ho gayi hai... pehla din film King ki shooting... My blessings Bhaiyu… love and more."
(“One film is releasing in a few days... another new film has started, first day of shooting for King... My blessings, Bhaiyu... love and more.”)
As Abhishek Bachchan enters his 26th year in cinema, fans and family alike celebrate not just his longevity, but his evolution as an actor committed to growth, diversity, and resilience.
