Udupi, Feb 3: As the zilla panchayat here and all the three taluk panchayats in the district are going to the polls, and the terms of the elected presidents and vice presidents of these panchayats will end during the election process, administrators have been appointed by the government to run them during the intervening period.
The terms of the president and vice president of the zilla panchayat here will come to an end on February 8. Regional commissioner of Mysuru division has been appointed as the adminnistrator of the zilla panchayat.
The tenure of the president and vice president of the taluk panchayat here will end on March 6, that of Kundapur taluk panchayat on February 10, while Karkala taluk panchayat term will come to an end on February 13. Deputy secretary of the zilla panchayat here has been appointed as administrator for all the three taluk panchayats.
