French Gasquet confirms participation in Barcelona Open

Barcelona, Feb 6 (IANS): French tennis player Richard Gasquet has confirmed his participation in the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell scheduled to be held in the Spanish city between April 16 and 24.

The World No.10 Gasquet joins the list of favourites to win the trophy and will be fourth seed behind Spanish Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer and Japanese Kei Nishikori. Gasquet announced his participation on Friday, reports Efe.

The French player started his season at the Montpellier tournament after he was out of the competitions for a period due to his back injury.

Gasquet, who is trained by Spanish Sergi Bruguera and French Sebastien Grosjean, will seek to win his 13th trophy through his fourth participation in the Barcelona Open.
