Karkala, Sep 19: A daily wage worker died of electrocution on Tuesday September 18 evening at Kenjar near here. The tragedy occurred when Ravi (22), son of Chinnaswamy, resident of Bailoor, was engaged in painting a bank's building.
Ravi was busy engaged in shifting a metal ladder when the edge of the ladder came in contact with live wire and died on the spot, said the eye witnesses.
Though the locals managed to stop electric supply, they could not save him. It is believed that the location of transformer in the vicinity of the bank was responsible for the tragedy.
