Moodbidri, Sep 20: Ganeshotsava celebrations in Moodbidri started in the early hours of Saturday September15 and concluded on Wednesday September 19.
Ganeshotsava which brings joy and nurtures the virtue of brotherhood was celebrated in an organized manner with authentic rituals.
A large number of devotees and people from all castes and faiths assembled during occasion of the ritualistic prayers to Lord Ganesh on the eve of taking the idol for immersion in the precincts of Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple in Alangar.
Thousands of devotees joined the procession accompanied by colourful tableaux depicting different religions, themes and cultural aspects of Tulunadu. They were sponsored by various groups and organizations of Moodbidri irrespective of religions, namely Mijar Electricals, New Friends circle, Sri Devi cycle stores, New Ravi Industries, Vinayaka Electricals, Maruthi Groups, Betkeri friends, Kotebagilu friends, Prithvi groups, Bright Engg works, New Bright Engg Works,Puttige friends Circle, Bedra Friends, Tudar Friends, Ganesh Katte friends circle Kaikamba, , Mitra Bandaya Nagarakatte.
The tableau which carried Lord Ganesh was driven by P M Narayan of Nishmitha group himself while the tableau which carried Devi was sponsored by Navami Group.
The young generation of Moodbidri was totally involved in maintaining peace and solemnity of the procession of Lord Ganesh on the way to the immersion ceremony while security, law and order was efficiently overseen by Moodbidri police.
