Way of the Cross held at St Anthony’s Church Kuntalnagar

Udupi, Mar 15: Udupi Deanery’s Way of the Cross was conducted at St Anthony’s Church, Kuntalnagar on Sunday, March 13. Fr Prakash Lobo, Capuchin conducted the Way of the Cross with thoughtful and meaningful prayers.

Lent season is one of the blessed seasons for the followers of Christianity. During this period, one reflects over the sufferings of the Jesus Christ, repents over his sins and comes back to attain love from.

































Dr Albert D’souza, Archbishop, Archdiocese of Agra was the main celebrant of the Holy Eucharistic celebration. Dr Albert hails from neighbouring parish Moodubelle, asked everyone to repent from heart at this part of the year.

Fr Prakash Lobo in his Homily said, “Christ’s entire life was full of sufferings right from the manger till the Cross. We humans fall many times and keep repeating it again and again. God loved us a lot that, He gave us his only Son. But he died for our sins, thus being a role model for all of us. Today Jesus calls every individual to carry our cross, our sufferings in this life. We should face our cross rather breakdown in front of it. This cross might be heavy, for it is not only my sufferings or your or any individuals cross, but of entire mankind. And when we carry our cross with courage, we receive strength to carry them in the form of blessings.”

Earlier Fr Denis D’sa, parish priest, Kuntalnagar welcomed.The Holy Eucharistic celebration witnessed 11 priests as cocelebrants.

St Anthony’s Church at Kuntalnagar is located on hilltop with 14 stations depicting the last hours of sufferings of Christ, Carved on 14 stones. Fr Prakash led the entire crowd of 700 odd gathered faithful, in the prayer service.

'Xadevm Mori', a Konkani play will be staged on Sunday, March 20 at Mother of Sorrows Church ground, Udupi. This play has been written by Walter Monteiro and directed by Vincent Alva, Pamboor.
