Thundershowers lash Eden Gardens ahead of India-Pakistan game

Kolkata, March 19 (IANS): Heavy thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds lashed Eden Gardens about two and a half hours before the scheduled start of the India-Pakistan World Twenty20 match here on Saturday.

The entire playing area was already covered, with the groundsmen sitting on the covers to ensure the wind did not blow them.

Amidst lightning, thunder and rain, the entire stadium was enveloped in darkness.
