Puttur: Gas tanker topples at Perne - Leakage reported

Puttur, Apr 2: A tanker carrying LPG to Bengaluru fell by its side at Perne Kadambu on Saturday April 2 morning, bringing back memories of the April 10, 2013 tragedy at Perne, which had killed over a dozen of people.

Gas began to leak from the fallen tanker immediately. Fire brigade from Mangaluru rushed to the spot and took steps to avert any tragedy.

Vehicular traffic on Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway 75 came to a standstill following the accident.
