Kannada dept of Mumbai University holds 'Sahitya Sambhrama'

Mumbai, Apr 18: The Kannada department of Mumbai University and Shimunje Parari felicitation committee jointly held 'Sahitya Sambrama' at Marati Bhasha Bhavan, Kalina Campus on Saturday April 16.
















Mudradi Diwaker N Shetty presided over the programme.

Dr G V Kulkarni, advocate Kadandale Parari Prakash L Shetty, Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharastra president Chandrashekara Palethady, businessmen Gunapala Shetty Aikala, Raghurama K Shetty and Bhujanga R Shetty were present.

Mudradi Diwaker Shetty released 'Sampreethi', a book edited by Dr G N Upadhya and Dr Poornima Sudhakar Shetty. He also draped shawls on authors Shimunje Parari and Chandrika Seetharama S Shetty couple, presented fruits and flowers, letters of felicitation and honorarium to them.

A discussion on the life and achievements of Shimunje Parari was held.

S K Sunder, Kannada department students Shivaraj M G, Parsappa Harijan, Surekha Devadiga, Anitha Shetty, Roopa Sangolli, Ashok Valadooru, Santhosh Mogaveera, Soorappa Kunder and others cooperated.

Office bearers of various groups and associations, working committee members and well wishers of Shimunje were present.

Senior author, poet B S Kurkal welcomed. Poet and author Geevi Kulkarni gave a felicitation speech. Organizer Petemane Prakash Shetty compered the programme. Editor group member G T Acharya proposed vote of thanks.
