Doctor fakes himself as top police officer, gets caught

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jun 12: A doctor who posed himself as an IPS officer in an effort to help his friend meet his girl friend who is undergoing police training, stands arrested by the police personnel of Sampigehalli police station here. He has been identified as Tejas Reddy (29), resident of Kirloskar Extension on Hesaraghatta main road, Banavara.

It is gathered that Tejas, who holds medical degree from a foreign country and serves several hospitals in the city, wanted to help his friend, Krishna. This friend's girl friend is undergoing police training. It is learnt the the doctor felt that it would be easy to present himself as an IPS officer on June 4, which had been earlier fixed by police organizations for holding protest. He claimed himself to be an IPS officer of 2014 batch, and his father to be a retired director general. Claiming himself to be serving as additional superintendent of police at Davanagere at present, he visited Sampigehalli police station located near the training centre.

The policemen there believed what he said, took him to be an esteemed guest, and offered him coffee and snacks. Thereafter, he was sent to the training centre along with friend, Krishna, accompanied by two policemen in uniforms. He talked to the superintendent of police in charge of training over phone. He then got his friend to meet his friend at the training centre before returning.

The policemen have found that he had visited some other police stations in the city too before Sampigehalli. He claimed there that he had been transferred to the city from Davanagere recently and that he had been asked to report about the personal presence of police staff.

The Sampigehalli police somehow got suspicion about his claims thereafter. They contacted the control room at Davanagere and got confirmation about him being fake. Thereafter, a special team was formed to nab him. The team followed him to Tirupati and took him into custody along with friend, Krishna. A fake walkie-talkie that was with him was also confiscated.

Faking has become a national epidemic in the last couple of years. Starting from marital status declaration, degrees, using teleprompter giving impression of extempore to the gullible etc are just to name a few. Now it's becoming 'Yatha Raja vatha prajaa'

Enlighten your brains my friend. Of course your link to the Nehru family is no where related to Mahatma Gandhi. But please remember that Indira Nehru is the wife of Feroze Jehangir Ghandy. As is common, if anyone can add or with certain letters to their name because of superstition, there is nothing wrong in renaming from Ghandy to Gandhi.
