Daijiworld Media Network-Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Jun 15: The parents of Shwetha D'Souza an accident victim, donated her eyes so that they could bring light to the life of person who needs them.

Shwetha (22) the daughter of Frank and Lethicia D'Souza from Vamanjoor here had met with a bike accident on Sunday June 12 in Bengaluru and passed away later in a hospital.

In fact, her parents wanted to donate other organs as well, but it could not be done due to time factors.

Shwetha’s funeral was held on Tuesday, June 14 in Vamanjoor, her hometown.

Speaking to Daijiworld, a close family member of deceased Shwetha D’Souza, expressed displeasure over the developments that took place between the accident time and funeral. The family was shocked to learn that some photos of Shwetha’s body in mortuary were shared in WhatsApp. He said that people should have respect for one's privacy especially that of grieving family. He also said that investigations regarding the cause of accident are being investigated by police and hence there should not be any space for speculation and rumours.

A great and a noble deed from the family of the deceased and must be emulated by all.

Even the donation of the body to the hospital/medical college for research should be encouraged than burying or burning it. The existing procedures for the body donation are cumbersome and must be relaxed for donor convenience.

Let all of us together pray & show our gratitude of human kind to Frank and Lethicia D'Souza family for their great donate. They can still see their beloved daughter’s eyes in someone else body. Dear Frank & Lethicia Madam…for a moment you lost everything by losing your beloved daughter but your one such decision even in difficult days made a huge gain in some other family….and your daughter will be worshiped & remembered by them too forever

May the departed soul rest in peace. I really appreciate the gesture and thought process of her parents. They wish that someone see this world through their child's eyes. They were about to donate the organs so that someone could live. What a generous thinking amid grief. Hat's off to them. God bless them.
