Bengaluru, Jun 18: Minister for large and medium scale industries, R V Deshpande, clarified that he does not aspire to fill in the post of KPCC president. "As the term of current incumbent, Dr G Parameshwar, has expired, some capable person will be brought in his place. The new president can be young or vetran. I have no problem with it," he stressed.

Speaking to media persons at Vidhan Soudha on Friday June 17, Deshpande appreciated Parameshwar for working efficiently in that post. "As Parameshwar has to look after the department of home, it will be difficult for him to manage both the posts. Moreover, his tenure has ended. Therefore, a new president will have to be chosen," he opined.

Deshpande said that he had worked as KPCC president in the past. He said he has never approached or spoken to anyone about ministry reorganization, which falls in the realm of absolute discretion of the chief minister. At the same time, he added that traditionally discussions are held with the party high command before reshuffle or reorganization of ministry.

He said he is never perturbed about ministry formation or reshuffle anytime. "I have worked as minister a number of times since the time Ramakrishna Hegde was the chief minister. I have lost count of the number of times I took oath as minister and resigned from that post since then," he said.
