Sullia: Battered by downpour, house crashes, youth killed

Sullia, Jun 22: A youth from Gundadka in Panja in the taluk lost his life due to heavy downpour which lashed the region on the night of Monday June 20. Narayan (35), son of Ramanna Gowda from Belandur lost his life as his house came crashing down suddenly at night.

Narayan was unmarried. He is survived by father, four brothers, and a younger sister.

Narayan was living with his mother at this house. His mother had died sometime back, after which Narayan started staying alone. His father and elder brother live at Belandur.

The house was in dilapidated condition. Torrential rain in the region on Monday night proved to be too much for this already weak structure. It crashed to the ground at night. The locals saw on Tuesday morning that the house had crashed and Narayan was no more. Thereafter, relatives were contacted.

A case about the incident was registered in Subrahmanya police station.
