Moodbidri: Pierced by tiller blades, farmer gets killed

Moodbidri, Jun 29: In an incident which occurred at Kallamundkur village near here on Sunday June 26, a farmer lost his life after the tiller suddenly turned turtle when he was tilling his land, and its blades pierced him.

Dinesh Poojary (50), resident of Tana House in Kallamundkur village, died in this incident.

Dinesh was ploughing his land on Sunday with a tiller. On reaching the border of his field he turned his tiller back, when suddenly  sand from the mud bund of the field  crashed as a result of which the tiller suddenly turned over. Reportedly, Dinesh tripped and fell down on the tiller. The blades of the tiller which were moving inflicted deep injuries to his chest and other body parts.

Dinesh died while being taken to hospital. A case of death was lodged at the town police station here and investigation is on.
