Mumbai, Jul 2: Mumbai University, Kannada department held a literary discussion programme at Ranade Bhavan of the University, Santacruz east as a part of Kannada Journalism day on Friday afternoon, July 1.





Head of the department of Kannada department, Dr G N Upadhya presided over the programme. Resource persons, Kannadiga Patrakarthara Sangha Maharashtra president Chandrashekar Palethady spoke on the significance of editing and the method of writing and honorary chief secretary Rons Bantwal on the importance and need for pictures in newspapers.

Journalist Gurudath S Poonja, Harijana Sarasappa, Anitha S Shetty, Asha K Suvarna, Sarojini Thare, Surekha Devadiga, Shivaraj M G, Geetha Manjunath and others were present.

Durgappaya Kotiavar welcomed the gathering. Y Madhusoodan V Rao spoke on the part of newspapers in the electronic media. Sushila S Devadiga presented a poem. Kannada department assistant Dr Poornima Sudhakar Shetty introduced the resource persons and compered the programme. Ashok Kumar Valavooru proposed the vote of thanks.
