Bertrand Russell English Medium High school inaugurates 'Jagruthi'

Mangaluru, Jul 4: Consumer club 'Jagruthi' of Bertrand Russell English Medium High school, Baikampady was inaugurated on July 2 at 10.00 am at the school premises by M J Salian president, DK District Consumer Federation.



Inaugurating the consumer club, Salian spoke about the consumer movement and motivated the students on how to become responsible citizens. He also congratulated the students for bagging the district level 'Best Consumer Club' award continuously for the second year.

Correspondent of the school, Nisha Laxman said that by educating the students on consumerism and consumer rights we can create consumer awareness in the society and she also requested Salian to start a certificate course for the high school students on consumer rights.

Vice president of the school management Aboobakar NMPT said that every consumer should know about his consumer rights to make an anti-corrupt society.

On the occasion the school parliament was inaugurated. Varun was elected as school pupil leader and Mohammed Rahil was elected as assistant school pupil leader. Member of the school management Mohini Vasanth and headmistress of the school Geetha were present on the occasion. Varshini of IX std was nominated as president of 'Jagruthi'. Thameema of VIII std welcomed the gathering, Dhanya of VIII std rendered the vote of thanks and Ashreena of VIII std mastered the ceremony.
