Giggled the first time I saw Ronaldo play: Giggs

London, July 12 (IANS): Manchester United great Ryan Giggs has said that he had a laugh when he saw Cristiano Ronaldo for the first time turning John O'Shea inside out while playing for Sporting Lisbon.

The Portuguese midfielder was so impressive in the friendly that he was able to secure a move to United and has since gone on to become one of the best ever in football history.

"You see Ronaldo get the ball, and you see him turn John O'Shea inside out, and you're having a little giggle to yourself," Giggs was quoted as saying by ITV on Monday.

The former United winger, who featured alongside Ronaldo for six seasons, also said the then manager Alex Ferguson had signed the youngster that very night, while the rest of the team were waiting in the bus.

"He just lit up the game, all the lads were talking to him after the game and I remember we were waiting on the coach and everybody was wondering what we were waiting for," he said.

"And then we just got a little whisper that the deal was being done for 13 million pounds."

Ronaldo won the Euro 2016 on Sunday with Portugal beating France 1-0 in the final at Paris -- though injury forced him out 24 minutes into the game.
