Police reunite Indian mother with daughters from Fujairah after 30 years

Hyderabad, Jul 23 (DHNS): The city police here have reunited a mother with her two daughters who were left in Dubai way back in 1981 after her UAE-based husband divorced her and sent her back to India. The south zone police helped the two daughters find their mother by searching records of Qazi office.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, V Satyanarayana who played an important role in uniting the family, Nazia Begum (60) from Santoshnagar was married to a United Arab Emirates( UAE) national Rasheed Eid Obaid Rifaq Masmari in 1981 at a Qazi’s office in old city. After a few years of marriage, she left for UAE.

Her husband lived in Fujairah province in UAE. As he was already married to a woman, Nazia faced immense problems after she joined her husband. Nevertheless, she lived there for around four years and had two daughters Ayesha Rasheed eid Obaid alias Kanoo Rasheed and Fatima Rasheed eid Obaid. Unfortunately, Nazia’s husband Rasheed forcibly divorced her following household disputes after which she was handed over a flight ticket to India and sent away. He did not allow Nazia to take her daughters along. After two years, Nazia’s parents married her to a fruit vendor from Bidar in Karnataka. While she was living with her family in Bidar, her daughters Kanoo Rasheed and Fatima Rasheed eid Obaid who are now aged 29 years and 26 years respectively came to Hyderabad in search of their mother, after their ailing father handed over details of their mother and breathed his last.

In January, both of them approached the police. The women brought along with them a photograph of their mother. Pamphlets and posters were printed and circulated all over the south zone. After six months their efforts bore fruit. Nazia had faint memories of her daughters as she last saw them around 30 years ago. All she could remember was her younger daughter had six fingers. The meeting was fixed at the deputy commissioner’s office at Purani Haveli.

At around 5 pm on Tuesday, Ayesha, her husband, their 10-year-old son and Fatima drove into the office. After moving around the hall, their eyes fell on an elderly woman. “We never thought we would meet our mother in lifetime. Allah had fixed the meeting and we are glad that we got to see our mother after 28 long years,” Ayesha and Fatima said.

Earlier how many young gals from hyderabad and lucknow married off to middle east. Many are also married to yeman..belonged to barkaas. Latter on government passed bill not to allow any person..to marry off to foreigners without having any proof.
Middle men played a major role in it..for small amount. Did any body asked what gal actually need.
That's why compulsory to educate gals from any communities to stand in there own will. Otherwise poverty will swallow them slowly.

Still there’s sense in the nonsense. There are numerous such cases of GCC men marrying women from Hyderabad and Lucknow. While some are enjoying well to do life, many are suffering, some influential wives have obtained nationalities of their husbands’ countries, many have been ill treated, divorced and even sent back to their country. The highly controlled local media is not permitted to highlight such cases. One such incident that made headlines was a case in which a Hyderabadi girl forcibly married to an aged Saudi was rescued by an Air India airhostess.

    You are absolutely right......John.
Air Hostess named Ahuliwala..and small gal aged 10 years ameena.
It becomes a big controversy. People protested..and government taken stern action.
Parents thinking..after marrying off one gal..all other families can become well-off...a main reason behind.
Just comments for the sake of commenting..and obtaining like..in there arena.

    Dev,
Muslim community made a good growth in realizing and providing the education especially to girls. The only area they are behind is stopping their people joining some nonsense groups. Biggest problem to them is educated people are joining such organizations.
So, not be so much religious. No comparison and grade the religion… Think practically….this is the message they have to send to their young generation….
