Bantwal, Nov 28: Tension prevailed in the town after a murder attempt on a flower merchant at B C Road bus stand in the wee hours of Wednesday November 28.

Shekhar Kulal, a flower merchant at B C Road bus stand, was attacked by 6 persons who arrived in 3 bikes at about 5-30 am on Wednesday. Miscreants wore face masks to conceal their identity, eye witnesses stated. Now, Shekhar Kulal has been admitted in a private hospital at Deralakatte following serious injuries all over his body.

Police have taken initiative to arrest the miscreants. But the reason behind the attack is not yet known. Although, Shekhar had identified himself in a few pro-Hindu organizations, he had never involved in any clashes. Hence, the police sources stated that professional rivalry might have resulted in this attack.

Bundh:

Al most all the shops in B C Road town pulled shutters on Wednesday, after the attack on Shekhar Kulal. Though none of the premier organizations have called for bundh, shopkeepers and merchants voluntarily closed their business concerns. But the government offices, banks and medical shops remained open as usual.

Dr Harsha, assistant superintendent of police (ASP) has reached the spot. Meanwhile, additional police forces have been deployed to tackle any adverse situation. Tight security has also been arranged in sensitive places like Thumbe and Farangipet.

Well thought comments of pavithra. In Mangalore City Corporation we have experience the Bharat Lal Minha, City Commissioner for 50 weeks and done wonderful job. As wisely said all these powerhungry shameless creatures should rest for not only for 20 months but till enternity.

The early morning attack on the said person prima facie looks more of a personal vendetta than anything else. Must applaud the people of Bantwal for maintaining peace and calm thereby keeping the situation peaceful. The administration and the police force atleast by the pics we see in Daiji world seem to be in adequate numbers keeping the situation very much under control. To wrap up i must say "No political govt." to head the state and situations are very well handled by the said officials in thorough diplomatic manner. Now how i wish we have the so called IAS and IPS officials rule us for another 20 months? All the "Addis" and "Chaddis" and "Gowdis" rest in peace for a short period of 20 months.......Rest in Peace.

The attacks happening in Dakshina kannada prove the inefficiency of our police force. Security after the incident is not required !!!! Whom you are trying to give security?
